David (Yegeon) Ko
CEO, Simplemath Foundation
My name is David (Yegeon) Ko, and I am currently a student at Northwood High School. I serve as the CEO of Simplemath Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to making mathematics accessible and engaging for students who may not otherwise have access to quality academic support.
My journey with Simplemath Foundation began before the organization was formally established. Through tutoring and volunteer work, I saw firsthand how many students struggled not because they lacked ability, but because they lacked opportunity and guidance. In 2024, I took on the role of CEO to help grow these early efforts into a structured program that could reach more students and provide consistent, meaningful support.
At Simplemath Foundation, I focus on designing tutoring programs, developing learning materials, and coordinating volunteers who share a passion for education. My goal is not only to help students improve their math skills, but also to build their confidence and belief in their own potential. I believe that when students feel supported and understood, learning becomes something they can truly enjoy.

My name is Isaac Bae. I am a senior in Northwood high school. I am very passionate about mathematics. Also, I have a huge passion for music. I love playing acoustic and classical guitar. Fingerstyle acoustic guitar playing is my favorite style of guitar.

I am a senior at Northwood High School. Through Simplemath, I hope to share my passion for mathematics with students. In my free time, I love to read and learn about/write Machine Learning algorithms.

I really enjoy tutoring and helping others. Math is also my favorite subject, so would be glad to teach it! My goals would be to help other students better understand math while reinforcing my own understanding of prior concepts. I would also like to gain more experience in teaching and improve personal skills such as patience and clarity in explanations.

I want to be able to work closely with a group of very bright individuals in order to support all students with mathematics. Through mathematics, I am able to solve problems and expand my critical thinking and hope to help other students develop as well-rounded individuals as well.

My name is Hannah Choi and I enjoy tutoring mathematics because it makes me feel accomplished when the students get to have a better understanding about certain math topics through my explanation. Through Simplemath Foundation, I believe more young and capable individuals who cannot afford private tutoring will have better access to mathematics and be passionate about it.
